It has such a nice complexity and sweetness to it... VERY RECOMMENDED!

87.50 Nose: Very nice, sweet, hospital-bonfire smoke, a lot of vanilla, honey, wax, sweet fruits, especially tropical ones like candied pineapple, peaches, wet grass, spices. Taste: Medicinal salty smoke dominates, linoleum, herbs, vanilla, toffee, salt, sweet fruits just like on the nose, apricot, nuts, it is a bit metallic, slightly biting, but according to 59.2% it is nice, Damuś likes this Kilcho! Finish: medium long, focal smoke, lots of tartness, fruit, apricots, nuts, cocoa powder, a bit of ash, a mixture of sugar syrup and lemon.

For its young age, it has a nice, heavy sweetness with toffee, a salt crust, and the typical Kilchoman lime. The sherry adds a touch of chocolate. A great bottling from the distillery's early years.

I like Kilchoman Of course, he is still quite young, lots of smoke, citrus and a touch of oak and sweetness not more, but not less ... no notes Pure it is too sharp for me, with water it is just right and the metallic note is gone when it comes from Kilchoman once malts at the age of 10 years ....

Excellent product. A Machir Bay who is eyeing the side of single casks! Balanced and racy. We want more ...

Kilchoman Machir Bay, European Tour 2014, 59.2% alc. Original bottling. Ageing: Bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry casks Nose: iodine, peat and tire abrasion, a pleasant portion of rubber and plastic in the first impression. Plus an artificial lemon flavor, a bit like a cheap car air freshener. The citrus fruits quickly become stronger, lime joins them, as well as delicate kitchen herbs and a hint of ginger. I can't find the chemical/artificial flavors anymore, maybe the Kilchoman just needs a little air. Palate: Very sweet and powerfully smoky. First lots of apricots, mirabelle plums and very light mango, then some lemon juice and strong chocolate. Here, for the first time, I find a maritime appeal, some sea salt and light mineral aromas. Also cold peppermint tea. Finish: Long, very long and warming. The sweetness remains and in addition to the peat smoke it also develops a nice spice component. Ginger, Steak Pepper, Nutmeg and Cinnamon. Conclusion: Again a wonderful Kilchoman, but this time relatively clean and fine with a focus on citrus fruits and a pleasant sweetness. The peat smoke is strong, but doesn't dominate this whisky. 86/100 points (2022)
