A great sherry bomb! Granted, the barrel is much more dominant than the distillery character, but that's the case with almost all sherry bombs, and yet we love them. What makes this malt special in my eyes are unexpected bright flavors that gradually reveal themselves behind the classic sherry flavors. Whether it has a slight sharpness in the finish, it is nevertheless round, complex and balanced.

Нос 91 Intense, multi-layered and balanced. First, very dark, dry and spicy sherry aromas of dried figs, dates, prunes, blueberries, roasted nuts and cocoa. Over time, sweet and lighter flavors such as kiwi, lime freshly baked ciabatta and sliced cucumber reveal themselves behind it.
Вкус 92 Sweetly round and astringent. Lots of dried fruit and fresh bread, memories of Christmas stollen are awakened. There are also fresh red fruits such as cherries, red grapes and raspberries. Plus bourbon vanilla, some shoe polish and earthy aromas. The oak wort underlines but is not dominant.
Финиш 90 The finish is long, sweet and velvety but accompanied by a slight sharpness. In the end, dark fruits remain and at the very end the oak comes through and is stronger than expected.

Nose: Lots of sherry, chocolate, milk elements Taste: Very intense flavor. red fruit, light oak, cherries. Pretty cool. despite the 59% alcohol really well hidden. Rating: 90 | 100. Medium long fruity finish. Interesting whisky because is only 9 years old and aroma is very strong !

Very powerful, intense typical sherrybomb. You know what to expect, and it doesn't disappoint. Very pleasant whisky.

Нос 89 Fruity, red fruits, plums, berries, quite some alcohol punch. Earthy, chocolate, coffee. Maple sirup.
Вкус 88 Powerful, spicy,pepper, very intense. Red fruits, plums, berries. Some hints of chocolate. Also sone earthy notes and a bitter touch underneath.
Финиш 88 More smooth now, but still quite powerful and pepper. Still a lot of red fruits, plums, earthy. Again some slight bitterness. Very long finish.

This sherry nuke needs both air and time, plenty of it! 87 for now, a fair score given the powerful punchy complexity that is hindered by the sherry front. Will re rate and review once again in the coming months after oxidation.

Нос — Dried fruits, plums, cherries, some chocolate with rosemary. Marzipan. The alcohol disappears into the harmony, a beautiful raw harmony.
Вкус — Beautifully smooth and round, dried fruit with cherries still leading the way. Nuts come in between. Orange, cloves in the background.
Финиш — Long gradual finish, a subtle dance of red fruits and nuts. Here, too, fresh fruit (orange) comes into play. What a joy!

Нос — N- Ripe at a young age, a rounded 9YO's spirits that just flow to the nasal with ease. Banana pie, chocolate, dark rum, and raisins. A tinge of savory and sharp marmite emerges if to aired it long enough. (90/22)
Вкус — P- Elegantly dry, then light syrupy coat. What is expected from a fine sherry butt was here to please. Dried fruits, caramel, berries, and subtle spices. (88/22)
Финиш — F- Medium long, delicious dark rum, raisin, medium weight spirit with a crisp finish. (87/21) B/B- 87/21 It feels like getting narrower from the nose to the finish. Lacking that bit of "lift" in the middle. Weighted Rate- 86pt

Classic sherry bomb with good complexity at a young age

Нос — Very dark, balanced sweetness, along with savory notes. Lots of dark fruits, some industrial shop notes: machine oil, sealing oil for wood, talc powder, mushrooms. Some nice dark sherry notes, with raisins, prunes, olives and touch of sea salt (Water) nose become sweeter and creamier, dark fruits dominate. It is a very bright juicy sherry matured malt with dark raisins, buckwheat honey, some flowers, wax and sealing oil. A very good example of a sherry bomb
Вкус — Very syrupy, real sherry bomb. Dense dark fruit jam, dried fruits: prunes, cherries, dark chocolate, cinnamon, black pepper, treacle, burnt sugar and cherry cough syrup. (Water) sweet, juicy and very dried fruits foreard taste. Ripe soft apricots, raisins, watermelons and apple puree, touch of mint, ginger and nutmeg and caramel. Some herbs, combined with honey and cherry syrup.

Вкус 89 Warm and balanced. The 59 degrees express themselves without brutality and prepare for the final.

Нос 91 Ashy, cooked fruits. Spiciness. Subdued marzipan and pastry (pie crust dough).
Вкус 91 Powerful ripe, cooked, red fruits accompanied by nuttiness. Some more fresh fruits in te background, oranges.
Финиш 90 The nuttiness coninues with the red ripe fruits. Oak becomes more prominent as the fresh notes subside. Fairly long.

Нос — Hmm, as I like it, a lot darker, heavier, luscious, sweet sherry, both a bit too dominant and intense, because the smoke in the middle part hardly has any space. Alcohol, however, is well integrated and a well-rounded affair, therefore a tasty, if not mega complex, whisky.
Вкус — Like the nose. Alcohol is not as strong here as one would expect in terms of percentages and age. Another nice sherry sweetness and the smoke is not very present.

Great sherry bomb! And that for EUR 65.00. Very cute. The 59% are very well integrated in the only 9 year old whisky. Cherry, blackberry, blueberry, ripe raspberry, light oak. Dark chocolate and sherry again. Tried it with the 21 year old Glendronach. Ok, the 12 years difference was clearly noticeable and the complexity is a little lacking. But I don't know which whisky I would prefer. If there was still some smoke, I would have bought all the bottles.

Oh yeah! The nose is rich and decadent with this great maltiness. The palate is syrupy with a long development. The finish is maybe a bit short but otherwise very tasty. That beeswax note really sets this ahead of the pack, though. This is at least as good as the North Star Longmorn 15 I had the other day. I’d say the maltier, fruitier, style of this whisky is a tiny bit more to my taste, but I’m sure my preference between those two drams would change day-to-day. Nose: Fruity, malty, and strong. Various breakfast cereals: Raisin Bran, Honey Nut Cheerios, or those cornflakes with the dried strawberries, all with milk of course. Butter-smeared toasted raisin challah, dates, cherries, raspberry jam, dried banana, honey, and beer nuts. Vanilla and baking spices. Slightly waxy. Palate: Thick texture, but a bit hot. A blast of sticky strawberry jam and sour cherries up front, inexplicably smothered in honey. Toasted cereals, roasted nuts, and bitter-sweet toffee in the middle. Apricot jam on challah toast. It stays toasty towards the finish, with that rich beeswax note emerging. Finish: Medium-short. Dried fruit leather, drie
