Нос 87 Considering the colour of this whisky and the apparent wood influence I find this quite shy on the nose initially. Time and water bring out candied fruit, mainly cherry flavoured wine gums, and make it more clear on coffee bitters and milk chocolate, also wet leaves, roasted nuts and a slightly metallic spiciness in the background shifting to ginger and cinnamon.
Вкус 86 Fuller than the nose comes across, syrupy and peppery, cassis, sweet and sour berries, some cherry, honied, dark creamy chocolate and cocoa, nutty, drying on wood spices like clove, ginger and slight cinnamon.
Финиш 85 Fairly long: sweet and sour dark fruits, coffee, dark chocolate, dusty cocoa, sweet liquorice, pepper clove and a drying slightly tannic end note.

Impressions from a blind tasting. Tasty, I like it. And it fits the season - it seems a bit Christmassy with the spice notes.

Финиш 87 Quite long, slightly drying, not bitter, the candy sweetness stays long in the back of the mouth, the rest dies off quite quickly

Possibly the best Glenallachie I've drunk so far and yes I've tasted a lot over the last few months and weeks; the distillery is and remains average at best for me, but this single cask is fun.

Waaw, this is the first Glenallachie from the Billy Walker-era that convinces me… actually, the best Glenallachie I had so far! What a fantastic pick from The Old Pipers..

88.50 Nose: very similar to the previous one, a bit more flat, but also more fruity than chocolate, I still want more cherries, but so much fresher. After a while, cherry bubble gum or Haribo gummies came out Taste: milder and more pleasant than M&P, candied cherries, red fruits, raspberries, dried strawberries in milk chocolate, lots of caramel but not as burnt as in M&P. There is no astringency of wood and coffee as in M&P. Finish: medium long, sweet fruity, but also tartly nutty, caramel.

It's really good and I would rate it a notch above the GlenAllachie 10 Years Cask Strength batches, mainly because there are no virgin oak elements here.
