Нос	91	great nose with notes of fresh fruit, tropical fruit, some of them slightly overripe (acetone). Subtle oak notes, baking spices in particular vanilla, fruit cake, idea herbaceous. Pleasant and appealing. 91
Вкус	91	fruity and spicy, here the oak comes to the fore, spices, some barrel and coffee, hint of chocolate. Tart to bittersweet, slightly astringent. Doesn't necessarily require the addition of water, but needs some time in the glass. The taste then progressively improves, the wood notes become milder, the fruit aromas intensify somewhat and the overall impression becomes more harmonious. 90-91
Финиш	90	Pleasantly spicy and finely dry, notes of wood/oak, spices, becoming a bit dry. Idea herbaceous and peppery. Finally a little nutty and slightly sweetish-malty finish. 89-90

Very good ex-bourbon whisky that I would never have tried without a tip. The 'Macallan' on the label and the price put me off. Very fruity & tropical. Slightly floral hints. When you take a deep breath, you can also see light oak tones. Exactly my profile! The first sip keeps what the nose promised. Perfect ABV for me. Builds from sip to sip of oak. Here he goes in a spicy direction. Great part. More of that! Unfortunately not affordable...

An incredibly good whisky with an absolutely fantastic finish. My olfactory memory is not the best - when I taste whiskys again after a while, the notes I made are usually correct. But without drinking it, I can't recall the taste unless I've drunk the malt quite a few times. Why am I telling this? Because I only have a 4cl sample of this one and I hope I can remember the smell and taste. hammer good.

Нос	94	Vanilla, biscuit dough, pear, elderberry syrup, ripe banana, floral notes like in the greenhouse, sweet pineapple or papaya, vegetable broth (without the salt), waxy, later some oak spice and green apple. The overall smell is very intense, almost overwhelming.
Вкус	93	Bit tent in the mouth, then a bit woody, then sweet, sugary and gently fruity for a long time, maybe the papaya from the nose again, then it becomes a bit peppery and spicy and the focus goes to the most delicate wood notes, which become stronger and stronger until the finish.
Финиш	94	A little more bitterness comes to the fore. The Bounty chocolate bar with chocolate and sweetened grated coconut. Something that unfortunately I can only describe as sounding less delicious than it is: steamed Brussels sprouts, paired with a mild sweetness and slightly nutty appeal because of the slight bitterness. At the end there is delicious bourbon vanilla. The finish with vanilla doesn't stop at all. After the sip, I quickly packed a Christmas present and then realized: you can still taste this hotshot!

probably the best EX BC Mac I'll ever drink - no comparison to the lousy OA of the last few years - top whisky and I'm more of an anti-fanboi - except for 1960s OAs :)

Нос	93	The most delicious, flawless tropical fruit cocktail - partly crystalline citrus notes, a touch of delicious oak, sweet dessert note - with more time, gets a great floral-crystalline touch of polished oak that I only know from much older malts
Вкус	93	fine citrus notes, yellow melon, fine polished wood, coconut cream dessert, freshly sawn, light green oak boards - creamy, lively and powerfully pulsating and always elegant - if you chew it for longer - there is a lot more oak, the fruity notes emerge easily Background - but also here delicious bitter substances in connection with sweet dessert and blooming mountain meadow herbs
Финиш	92	dried mango, flambéed ripe pineapple, Mediterranean spices - slightly herbal peppery - very spicy for such an elegant malt

Macallan Speymalt GM 1998-2020 especially for the German market. A bottling of which there are only 115 bottles can still convince me as a not exactly designated bourbon barrel whisky fan. Nosing is a dream when given time to breathe. On the palate, the Mac with more complexity and also spicier aromas can have a multifaceted taste profile that is not too boring, but not too demanding. The alcohol is always well integrated and there are no missing notes. All around a successful bottling, which is the barrel strength very well. A point that I have to fault most of the other Macallans. No matter if Macallan 12, 15, or 18, the new NAS bottlings or all the marketing errors with their 40% or 43%. Of all these, only the 18 sherry could convince me to some extent. This one has its very own character and stands out from the Macallan mainstream. Unfortunately, most of them didn't get hold of any of them. In any case, a successful bottling for me, even if I don't like whisky matured in bourbon casks. Nevertheless, I gave a generous 90 points today. Slaintè!

Нос	91	The color of light golden amber. The Macallan 1998 GM lies oily in the nosing glass. At first, the alcohol with its 51.9% is quite present in the nose and cools, but after a few moments it goes away and then the Macallan can no longer keep its origin from an ex-bourbon barrel a secret. A massive load of honey and vanilla flavors makes its way up your nose, followed by pineapple, oranges, sugar candy, beeswax and a hint of toffee and marzipan. Overall a very sweet and fruity nosing. A few drops of water cause light, subtle wood notes to open up and make the fruity nose a little more complex. If you smell it very closely, you can begin to guess the aforementioned "glue note" that many bourbon are said to be.
Вкус	90	The 51.9% are very pleasant on the tongue, the alcohol is very well integrated and nothing stings. The nosing continues skillfully on the palate. At the beginning, the sweet notes of vanilla and honey dominate again. But after some chewing, the Macallan becomes spicier on the tongue. A slight inquer / pepper note exudes a slightly "sharp" counterpoint to the sweetness. With the second sip, you can now also hear slightly bitter notes, spice and sweetness deliver a passionate battle for dominance on the palate. Everything is very well balanced, no missing notes, victory on the palate just goes to the spicy protagonists.
Финиш	90	The finish is long and warm. A very pleasant feeling of well-being remains in the mouth. The flow of saliva is still in action, but it is decreasing so that the palate is slowly becoming drier. The sweet notes of vanilla and honey are literally sticking to the tip of the tongue, while further back and on the cheeks the more spicy aromas can be found, with the ginger coming to the fore again and the “glue note” recalling itself. Slowly, very slowly, the mouthfeel evaporates and the realization remains that Macallan is not only good at sherry.
