The Strahtisla, which had already been so highly praised and almost hyped, does not disappoint. On the contrary: it surpasses the already very high expectations. 30 years in Sherry Hoghshead, no cooling filtration, no artificial color and a pleasant barrel strength. All of these are big points that pay their tribute. 350 euros are already an announcement and will definitely keep one or the other buyer from buying this bottle. But once you have it in the jar, this is immediately forgotten. You will be rewarded with an incredible nose. And sheer unbelievable complexity and variety of flavors that you don't experience every day. In the mouth, the Strathisla shows itself as the adult gentleman who has something to offer from everything: sweetness, spiciness, complexity, balance and simply the feeling: "Yes, it is THERE" The finish is never-ending. After over an hour after pouring and half an hour after trying it for the first time, I still have the Strathisla in my mouth. You can't really expect more from a whisky. I'm excited! The best malt for me in 2019 was the 1990 Glenfarclas from the winter 2018 release. This one is a little bit better for me, because it is simply multi-layered, more complex and a little more "noble" and more balanced.

I like the nose quite a lot, especially compare to many 25-30+ years old sherry whiskies that I tried recently. While those are too oaky and leathery, this is so fresh and sweet. Delicate yet complex, so complex that even Chinese dishes popped out in the nose. A big thank you to whiskyCon for the sample!

yes, an exciting malt - completely barrel-dominated, modern - delicious - but not as noble and lively as older vintages, good in what it can do - but at the same time not quite as complex as I would like in the league, with the edition price called ( ~ 350 €) there is no buying attraction for me

Nice nose, wintery with orange, cinnamon and vanilla. In the mouth it is unfortunately too bitter for me. Strong espresso and coffee notes, cocoa. In addition, a lot of oak seasoning. Prominent pepper. I miss the fruit and the sweetness as a contrast. Not so mine ...

Less than expected... I plan to drink after a little more aeration

I'll take an old GM strathisla every time. These modern sherry bombs are a little played out, I think.

Nose: chocolate, strong sherry, light bread aroma, cinnamon Taste: A huge dose of sherry on the tongue, which is slightly dry at the beginning and turns into a light spice. At times, you may come across light chocolate pieces. Taste with a powerful aroma, ScoreL 92 | 100 Medium long finish with a powerful dose of sherry. A very interesting modern sherry bomb. Very pleasant to receive.

Smells even bigger that it really is... Very nice sherried whisky experience

It gets better and better with air over the years, very great, easy to drink, it also has some complexity. Everything you would expect from a 30 year old bottled at the right time.
