В текстовых отзывах Aberlour A'bunadh (No Batch) I see that this was the start of a very good concept. In my opinion, Aberlour has learned over time how to improve the consistency and the taste of this series. This one was very interesting, no doubt, but not the best A'Bunadh I've ever tasted.

For me this "No Batch" stands out a bit. It seems to be an intermediate between the 100 Proof and the rest of the A`bunadh`s. It`s smoother and somewhat lighter (in color). Maybe a bit "crafted"
Great whisky, totaly different than another bottle a'bunadho No Batch that I have tasted a month ago. That one was absolutly light and full of fresh fruit, this one is heavy, and woody. But still very good. Great quality, completely unattainable in the current batch
caramel, burnt sugar, plums, raisins, tobacco, sweet spices, chocolate, oak, red fruits, these early A'bunadh were of very high quality
An amazing whisky I got a real wow effect

90 Nose: the so-called effect of the old botle is already manifested - dusty cabinet, prunes, tobacco, woody notes Taste: pleasant, warm, cherry in chocolate, caramel, vanilla ... a drop of varnish ... Finish: long and pleasant. Very edible molt. I love those. There is no alcoholism at all, despite almost 60%. Ideal for smoking a pipe or cigar.
How did this wine get 89.35 points? My face is full of doubts and puzzles.

what! Karen Wheat! Is the barrel strong version for 12 years? Or is it the 2020 version of the barrel strong for 18 years, or the 2017 classic cut? In short, it is a typical Eddington Sherry bucket, of course, I certainly know this is Abel. Slight sulphur, old leather, toffee, dried fruit, dark chocolate, creamy aroma, slightly fleshy. 85 |

The caramel, the sweetness is outstanding, the spiciness is also outstanding, the sesame pepper is connected. There are dried apples and fennel in the middle, which are closed with chocolate. The wine has medium strength, strong irritation, and strong scratching sensation. It should be tasteless, it should be thick and not thick, and it should be palatable or unpalatable. p78b80 |

Very exciting to get an insight into the original version.

This dram showcases a quality Oloroso cask influence with a dense, heavily nutty profile. The palate carries a coating, oily mouthfeel that tends to emphasize the underlying dryness, suggesting that a few drops of water might be needed to fully open it up. While its overall performance clearly deliver a step above current standard releases, the experience ultimately does not quite live up to the hype surrounding it.

Clearly expressed cherry bone. After standing up - some spices and eucalyptus, thick plum-cherry jam and a little bit of tobacco. Powerful and energetic, the degree is felt, but |

Very good middle-of-the-road-old-school sherry matured whisky. Not too old, but not too young, either imho. Pretty sweet on the tongue, needs some sips to spead out and coat the whole mouth, but when it does, it's tons of joy. Perhaps not as complex/excellent as some later batches in the 10s and 20ies, but still a benchmark at a time when there weren't many if any competitors (cask strength, fully sherry matured, ever continuing small batches) around. Chapeau, Aberlour!
"Released in over a decade ago, this is the original No Batch release of Aberlour a`Bunadh. An incredible collector`s item which is likely to fly of our shelves in minutes, this is a rare find, particularly for lovers of the intense a`Bunadh series." TMOM

Nose: notes of ripe sherry, raisins, oak barrel, chocolate, some fruit jam Taste: Nice combination with notes of sherry turning into notes of wine. some chocolate and tea. In the background, light forest fruits in the form of berries Rating: 90 | 100 Quite long finish with a strong sherry aftertaste that turns into dry wine notes. Another item that you cannot pass by indifferently. It opens nicely after adding some water. Highly recommendable whisky!
So so, strong thought of a GlenDronach 1972, nice! This really smells like a nice paxarette sherry aged whisky. With one sip you immediately cover the entire tongue. Beautifully full like Brigitte Bardot's breasts, deliciously sweet like a croissant with red jam mix, and spicy like the best chocolate. This checks everything I desire in a whisky. Almost alien.
Amber, with shades of ruby. Notes of complex honey-drenched fruit (sultana, marmalade, peaches, apples), toffee, treacle, and hint of mint. Full, rich texture and lush body. Long, warming, moderately spicy finish.

The start of a beautiful range. Rumour has it that when the second pair of stills were put in in 1975, a time capsule was discovered behind the name plate, containing an 1898 newspaper about the distillery fire wrapped around an 1898 bottle of Aberlour. The workmen who discovered the bottle polished off four-fifths of the bottle during their lunch break, but the remains of the bottle went off to the laboratories in Keith, and were analysed. A`bunadh is an attempt to recreate this single malt. The word a`bunadh is roughly translated into English from Scottish Gaelic as "original." (source: Wikipedia)

Smell: Ah, the nasty smell of sulfur. The smell of gunpowder is too strong, so put it to play. Blackcurrant dried fruit, chestnut cake, burnt wooden barrel, brown sugar pudding, caramel popcorn, cheese yogurt, licorice plum syrup. The firepower is still strong and slightly restless. 87/100 Taste: Sulfur, toasted oak, caramel cinnamon, star anise, sweet and sour plum syrup, dark chocolate, cigarette, bitterness of leather, Chinese herbal medicine 87/100 Body: soft, concentrated, heavy body 87/100 Ending rhyme: long, brown sugar, coffee beans, wood residue Overall: 87/100
