... FANTASTIC, I honor the creators of this bottling ... impressed with bright fruits on the nose then roses, burning candles and cold fire ash. The mouthfeel is silky with intense peat, baked pears, with vanilla sauce in the puff pastry that transitions into bacon, olives with buttered baguette. Then finally ending in salted peanuts and sweet peat. I love it. THANKS

Nice smoke on the finish. Eel smoking cabinet, condensing smoke. Very balanced, alcohol included. Soft.Autumnal burnt leaves, oak and linden. Honey. Perfect smoke. Leather. Sweet smoke, sherry, smoke still clearly noticeable. Stays nice and long. Very pleasing. Bubbly. Smoke getting fainter. Licorice. Yummy. Surprisingly soft. No extremes. Very pleasing, lacking a bit of power. Rather not complex, except on the nose. (Christmas Tasting 2023, The Whisky Five)

Нос	89	Tart fruits (apricots, plums), wet autumn leaves, lemon curd cookies by the open fireplace, which glows with dry beech logs, because only with a lot of imagination can there be a hint of smoke. Very delicate, but opens up very nicely after a while.
Вкус	91	More mineral-smoky than on the nose, but waxy-oily with an underlying, very subtle fruitiness. I feel somewhat reminded of old Rhosdhus. Fantastic mouthfeel!
Финиш	89	Great finish with a balance that can only be described as umami: honeyed fruit pieces drip off a spicy rye bread, salty ham notes are enriched by bittersweet tree sap.

nice Highlander from the smokehouse. goes towards smoked eel (you have to like it) or fatty/greasy wood smoke, waxy. light fruity. tannins/spice slightly musty or wet forest floor. (vegetable?) Not a high flyer for me, but an absolutely harmonious old, delicious whisky. very well balanced.

The nose is very complex, with light peat, but a nice smoke, ethereal, iodized, with a hint of charcoal. It's very balanced, with creamy, almost candied fruits, marzipan, forest honey and nuts. On the palate, quinces, apricots, cooked apples, it's almost compote, with a generous pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. A touch of pepper too. Very well done finish, long, rocky, nutty, the peat coming back, a little ashy, an ounce of soot and earth, some white fruits, discreet vanilla, a certain minerality. Breadcrumbs. Truly exceptionally successful, this Ardmore, very impressive. Нос	90	Slightly chlorine and iodine. Maritime influences, plus chocolate, red berries, mint and pear. Wonderfully balanced. Then grassier again. Fruit goes towards apple, raspberry and cherry.
Вкус	92	Light embers, extreme OBF, apple, berries and pear. In addition, maritime notes with iodine notes.
Финиш	90	Embers grow stronger. Light oak notes. Finish is not particularly intense, but lingers for a long time. Again surrounded by a beautiful dustiness. Apple, light chocolate and European oak remain.

Нос	90	Oily, saline and floral. Freshly washed cottons drying in coastal winds. Lemon balm, ozone, ink, nutmeg, black olives, smoked salmon and an oiliness reminiscent of a softly vegetal rhum agricole. Subtle lemon and white pepper, distant pears and a crumb of vanilla shortbread.
Вкус	91	Not too complex, but fantastic taste reception, perfect alcohol integration. Starts off with some soft sweet peaches, ink and smoked kippers before a dusty cloud of wood smoke emerges alongside perfect lemon, creating an intense dry, smoky/sour evolution midway palate.
Финиш	91	More peaches and sweet melon, pear drops make for the initial subtle fruity afterglow. Later ink, coriander, chalk and charcoal smoke show, backed by a light lime acidity.

The style is reminiscent of modern Bowmore releases. I would have thought so blindly. Develops and changes perfectly in the air! Complex and multi-layered whisky! The glass can easily be swirled for 1.5 hours. Doesn't ask for water. Difficulty of note breakdown: 9/10 23 22 22 22

A cracking whisky at comfortable strength, with just the tiny touch of peat, sherry-soaked fruits, and mineral depth. Not overly complex, but damn tasty and engaging. Chasing that mysterious citrus (kumquat?) turned this dram into a proper adventure

Нос	91	Bold and rich, with a clear but very delicate sherry cask influence. A slight tartness opens into a vibrant fruit medley: apricot, red apple, lemon zest, kumquat, and maybe a whisper of dogwood (though I’m not betting on it). Floral honey and faint floral hints bring a soft touch. It’s fresh yet dense, with ghostly peaty wisps adding a subtle smoky intrigue.
Вкус	90	The fruits carry over, apricot and that elusive kumquat (or some odd citrus that’s got fixed in my mind). Then it shifts to minerality: a pinch of salt, a dash of ash, and a wisp of smoke weave in depth. Sweet tropical fruits linger, but the peat stays light, keeping everything in perfect harmony.
Финиш	90	A blend of the nose and palate’s still here, though a bit softer. Oak plays a supporting role, letting sweetness fade into floral notes, spicy herbs, and a light clear ashy note with a wee touch of iodine. It’s smooth but leaves a lingering character. UPD: After i got back to it after sometime I can say it is 90+.

Very delicious, sweet and smooth to drink, with a delicate spicy claw. Lots of honey, yellow fruit (apples, peach, apricots), but also delicate grilled smoke, a mineral accent, with an atmosphere that rises from a car repair shop and iodine notes. Despite the low alcohol content, this is a whisky with character.

Like all the "Marriage of Casks" bottlings, this is an excellent vatting. I'm just missing the tropical / exotic fruit notes that ripe Ardmore can at times display. This one is more on the savory / spiced / leathery / autumnal axis. For the same original issue price, and from the same series, I prefer the Bunnahabhain 27 y.o. (WB119187) over this one by a comfortable margin – and the 25 y.o. from Speyside Distillery (WB218344) by a hair's breadth.

Нос	89	Time-worn leather, vegetal compost / fallen leaves, forest floor / mushrooms, petrichor, wood embers, cigar ashes, cinnamon, nutmeg, fruit jelly and perhaps a dash of freshly squeezed orange juice and/or Angostura. Very inviting, almost comforting, if perhaps a bit single-minded. A true armchair whisky.
Вкус	89	Smoky-spicy, with good depth. Camphor, eucalyptus, leather, citrus, oak spice, and thyme honey. When it goes down, it morphs into a salty-savory, almost musky impression I often get from older Bunnahabhains.
Финиш	88	Salted licorice, musk, black tea, ashes, grapefruit.

Нос	89	Nose: Delicate salty smoke, mineral, salty sea air, slightly stale wet hay, yeast dough, vanilla cream, toffee, broken by sweet fruits, peaches, sweet red apples, sour and sweet citrus, lime juice. Interestingly, it smells a bit like those "French" Agricoile rums. After a while, it smells intensely of freshly squeezed orange juice. 89.00 You have to give it a lot of time to open up.
