Beautiful color, a dark mahogany. He needs some time, and he deserves it too. Heavy, intense sherry notes, the wood is also quite strong. He looks old and round. Associations with Parliament come to mind. Strong in the mouth, also sherry and wood, quite pleasant, aromatic. Yes, he can do something! It's been a long time since I've had a Parliament in my glass, but somehow I have the impression that the new one is a bit lighter, or less complex. But it's no shame...

Tasted at the distillery, September 2025. Quick notes taken there. Aged 90% in ex-px and 10% in ex-oloroso casks. It needs a lot of time, be patient and you will be rewarded. Complex and good balance between sweetness, earthiness and spices.

I was surprised by the nose. It actually reminds me a bit of Billy Walker's Parliaments. In terms of taste, it can't quite compete, although it is a really good sherry maturation in its own right.

Raisins, milk chocolate, orange, ginger, malt, white pepper, roasted nuts, wild berry compote, with a good oak finish. Surprisingly, the mouthfeel is relatively hot, or to put it positively, spicy.

Tried it alongside Parliament (2020). Surprisingly, they weren't different at all. This one is lighter, lacks depth, and loses out in the finish. It comes across as very clean, but therefore also lacks anything special. 86-90 – Wow, really good one, needs a bottle

Вкус	90	Full-bodied and pleasant. The alcohol strength is just right.
Финиш	85	Red fruit on the finish. Slight sweetness. Long. The second dram is quite bitter. It loses badly here.

Rachel's masterpiece so far in the standard range. While the 15th is a completely different whisky than the Billy Revival, and her Allardice, while similar in flavor to the Billy version, lacks the Glendronach-typical fig sweetness and oiliness that characterized the Billy Walker era, the new 21st easily passes as an older Parliament. I just tasted it against WID 93899 (which scored 90 points), and the differences were truly minimal. The older version has slightly more plum flavor, while the newer one adds a bit of marzipan. The new one is really good, but it remains to be seen whether later batches will be able to maintain this level. Too often, we've seen the first batch of a new series bottled from better casks than later batches...

Aroma - old red sherry, freshly dried prunes, milk chocolate, leather. Taste - not very oily but more watery, sweet, roasted hazelnuts, raisins, slightly sour dried red berries, "old sherry" vibe. Finish - long, sweet, chocolate, leather, and black pepper. It's nice, but not like the old ones

It's... not terrible. It's definitely better than a recent bottling of the 18 year old I tried. The nose is probably the best part but it does need some hand warmth to get the most out of it. I get nice and dark sherry notes, almost reminiscent of the mid 2010s Parliaments - albeit less intense. And that continues on the palate as well: there are decent flavours but they're fairly muted and the more you drink it, the more bitter it gets. The finish completely falls off for some reason and is extremely short - something I noticed the 18 year old also had. It's baffling really for single malts in this age range. Oh Glendronach.. how the mighty have fallen.

Sample Note: Compared to a 2017 Parliament: The new one does a really good job and comes very close. Beautiful, deep sherry aromas, leather, fruit. Very good start and finish. Yes, I like it very, very much. Anyone who sees a world of difference between the old and new, I have to say: I can't understand it at all. The old Parliament from September 2017 scored 91 points, but this one also reaches the 90-point mark.

I like the new 21-year-old; it has lovely aromas from the PX. The taste is somewhat lighter, both in terms of the sherry cask influence and the texture. In direct comparison to Parliament, it lacks intensity, smoothness, and depth. I would say its predecessor shows its age a bit more – 28.02.2026
