Great color! Sherry Bomb! As expected, intense sherry nose, not sweet, rather dry. Strong earth, mild wood. You can already feel that he will be strong... The full force! Very intensive. But now very the barrel notes. saliva in the mouth. Here you chew on the sip for a long time, tries to perceive everything. Surely it can take a drop of water. Rarely had such an intense experience. A long, bitter finish. Splendid!

A few months later, I had the whisky in a blind tasting once again. These were my impressions: Color: mahogany Smell: Sweet sherry and lots of it, a light alcoholic stinging, oak, tangerine, roses, lilies and sherry again and again Taste: Surprisingly mild onset, only after a small moment does a pleasant sharpness appear on the tongue, strong, massive oak, sherry, drier and not nearly as sweet as in the nose, Departure: Dark chocolate, espresso, lots of oak, but not too much oak, the bitterness lingers for a long time on the tongue and on the palate. Conclusion: A very barrel-heavy whisky with a lot of sherry and oak. Everything fits together well and tastes really good. The only criticism that could be expressed would be one-sidedness. The barrel hardly leaves room for anything else. 89 points Tip: The Whisy shows an extremely small piece of tough drop formation and also the alcoholic stinging in the nose let me assume a very high alcohol content, at least 56%. I suspect a pure ripening in a first-filled sherry keg. The age is difficult. The strong oak suggests a high age, at least 20 years. The distillery, I estimate as a rather unknown. It is not Glendronach or Glenfarclas. However, it could even be a Kavalan Soloist Sherry. Of course my age tip is not right. A little different from the first, conscious tasting. Nevertheless, he liked me again. The first time I gave him 91 points. So now I'll take the remedy and get him with 90 points.

The smell is intensely fruity, but without the heaviness of some old, barrel-heavy whiskys with tart oak notes. Nevertheless, the smell is not lacking in maturity. Even in the mouth, this great Glenlivet can convince me, mature and sufficiently complex, but dangerous complacent. Only the departure falls slightly. Still good, but a little weaker after the smell and the taste. Overall, I like the whisky excellent.

Pure barrel - this is a very fine malt! Just maybe a bit hyped. 94 points from some - good goodness, in my opinion he is far from that. But very tasty, no question about it.

Excellent whisky, all the best that a sherry barrel can give and nothing more.

A somehow "treated" butt? Reminding 1988s Blair Athol (SV, Ultimate) wine treated butts, the cask dominating over the spirit. Here very smooth and soft, despite high ABV not needing much water. Somewhat onedimensional and not evolving complex notes (directly compared to one of the Blair Athols).

A blockbuster, that goes out of boundaries in the finish. Maybe, such a whisky is appealing to many, but I find the change from nose to finish too much.

there Sherrybomb. Delicious. Rather for lovers of very intense whiskys. He needs time in the glass. I also recommend some water.

A sherry bomb of a respectable age, completely cask-driven and devoid of any distillery character, but undeniably delicious.

A dreamy sherry bomb! As nicely mentioned, not too woody and not too sweet, just perfect! I like it very much! ;-) Edit: While I review my notes again, the spicy wood tones with espresso and menthol turn a lap of honor and end in hard caramel, walnuts and dark berries. 24/23/23/23 (93P)

Nose: dark sherry, dusty oak, cola syrup, dark cherries, caramel, chocolate, wet old leather, dried herbs - wow everything you can expect from such a dark fern! Taste: strong and full aroma of dark fruits, raisins in the chocolate coat, old leather, tidy sherry sweetness and then heavy oak which dominates the long finish even with its bitter notes (dark chocolate, espresso). Dream fabric!

Blind tasting. Consistent from start to finish, a great malt. Overall, a very tasty treat.
