Very rich in taste sweet, cooked fruits, honey and smoke Finish a little bit too medical for my taste buds however everything else makes her one of my favourites. Bought few for myself at Bowmore distillery shop where nice ladies poured me a dram of this goodness

I loved the different directions that leather, wood, and burning candles took this dram. Dried fruits, incense, and chocolate appeared at different turns, while an underlying minerality and mellow brine linked a well-structured network of flavor notes. My mind raced between Cathedral crypts, leather everything, and coastal smugglers. Excellent at cask strength; I thought water opened up a new experience as it pulled out some delicious and distinct fresh fruits and vanilla bean ice cream. Typical Bowmore profile with a good dose of lavender but also something reminiscent of soapnut. The influence of the PX barrels is very pronounced but what I really liked was the funky saltiness and aroma of roasted coffee beans. The ABV percentages are okay. I'm glad I got to taste it

Bowmore 20 Years Founder's Special Edition, 15 Years oloroso+5 Years px, 20 Years Sherry Barrel, 50.7%, overall sweet and smoky plus Sherry, warm and unique peat, I like it very much. The aroma was a little blocked after pouring out the bottle, but it opened quickly. Smell the fragrance of flowers and fruits, vanilla, salt, smoke, and a very unique and balanced peat wind. The entrance is sweeter and smoky, oily, sea salt, light chocolate, spice, honey. After waking up for a while, the characteristics of Shirley gradually show, the sense of layering is good, the sense of alcohol is well controlled, the entrance is comfortable and not irritating, and there is There is a touch of peat bubbles in the latter part of each time, which I like to have a unique feature. The rhyme is long, sea salt, sherry and peat are the main ingredients, plus spices add radiance to each other.

Smell: The first breath is a very standard peat sherry. Peat like twigs, wrapped around this thick candied black fruit, dates, hawthorn and dried longan (these two dried goods have a dusty smell). Then the sweetness became thicker and thicker, and the hallucination of syrup appeared, and the nose seemed to be stuck to the wall of the cup. There is a moment in the middle where it seems to smell violets. Tasting: 50% alcohol suppression ability is too powerful! It started out as disinfectant, and then quickly turned into sweetness, which was really sweet, but with a strange sourness in it, so pure that I couldn't associate it with anything. In the nostrils are burning peat and charred lamb kebabs, and the bamboo skewers of the mutton kebabs have begun to catch fire. Aftertaste: The bitter taste permeates the mouth, not too strong but very long-lasting, like eating a handful of ashes, which reflects the strong and long-lasting peat tone. Slowly, the sweetness of some dried flowers appeared again. Still a decent whisky, but considering the price...

Sweet, smoky and oily dram.

I bought two bottles and got a sample with them. This is actually the best Bowmore I've tasted so far. In my opinion it even surpasses the ingenious Bowmore 30 years Sea Dragon.

Bowmore smoke with great sherry integration, really enjoyable, on par with the late 90s single casks.

I compared this bottle of whisky with Bowmore 1992 (wb id: 126424) and personally think this cask blend is more harmonious.

The color is a little disappointing. The 20-year-old Sherry barrel is still PX in the next 5 years, and it is only reddish brown, which is slightly darker than the regular 18-year-old. But the overall is calm and easy to drink, the alcohol is well suppressed, and the taste is like tasting plums under the trees of ancient temples in early summer afternoons, which is unforgettable.

Character: creamy, sweet, fresh fruit, soft, round, slightly smoky, maritime, also in the taste. Powerful without burning, long finish, slightly tart, very good.

Definitely a big smoke, spicy, sweet, full of fruit and overripe apples, plums, grapes, a mix of overripe fruit, chocolate, cocoa, oh shit, it's whisky, but clearly oloroso, something that bothers me a little, one shot is enough

Such a real Christmas whisky!! Leathery, tobacco, nutty and finally Christmas stollen, cinnamon and everything covered with sweet smoke! Yummy!

The balance is perfect from start to finish with a suitable fit. This is a flawless bottle.

A typical great sherry cask-matured Bowmore. Intense but not overloaded, still leaving room for the distillery character. Bowmore with the frame data actually works almost every time!

N sweet peat, deep & ritch, creamy, vanilla, dark fruit, dried plums, cacao chocolate, sweet & sour with a pinch of salt, roasted nuts, some dirt P chilli and black pepper, dense honey sweetness, dark berries, dried fruits, roasted nuts, mineral notes, crey vanilla, toffee F sweet peat, salty dark chocolate, black coffe, long and nice. We loved this dram! The peat isn't prominent, good casks so there's no sulphure, it is balanced it's rich and vivid (wouldn't give it 20y). Overall 7.5/10. It ticks all the boxes but is a bit boring.

This Bowmore 2020 limited edition gives me the feeling of a 30 year old's fragrance and elegance.

I never had a Black Bowmore in my glass, but it must hell good! And this is, I would expect, compared to a Bowmore Black way worse ;) Nevertheless, opened the bottle after a nice tasting including a Glenallachie 1989 and a Royal Mile 40 Blended Malt and I just can say it was phenomenal. You think of a Glendronach Parliament all the time when it comes to the maturing of this Bowmore, the age is close to it as well. And it is really enjoyable straight from the bottle into the glass without any dilution. Sweet Bowmore smoke, dark fruits, perfectly integrated alcohol as it should be with around 50% anyway. Voluminous, warming and charming. In the mouth oily and complex, this is Bowmore at its best. Could even be a little bit stronger, but this is critizing on a high level. All in all, also for a higher price, this bottle should be opened and not kept for making profit. Really nice stuff! Close to the 1997 dstillery manager's selection.

Exellent in taste because of the sweetnes of the Ximines casks. smoke in a light tast and a very nice long after burner. And heavely not based on the awfull bourbon casks. Wich all have a very nasty sharp taste of sheapness.

On the nose: sweet peat, some salt but mostly mossy with cherry and a metallic note. Cranberry jam, cinnamon and a paraffin residue. Coconut, a cold-pressed cacao orange bar, honeycomb and orange peel. Time I felt was beneficial to help open up the dram. A splash of water also unlocked hard-boiled candy and some toffee. In the mouth: lacking the vibrancy of the nose this is more wood-orientated. Mossy peat, peppery and some soot. Cranberries, red apples, tobacco and cloves. A hot dark chocolate with a touch of dryness on the finish.

A generally high rating famous Bowmore bottle. I can understand why people give a high mark for this whisky. As a sherry peat whisky, it really does a great job. Nice sherry notes eg dark fruits and cacao mixed well with peated notes like bonfire and smoke. The David Simson 20yo shows a high extent of complexity and balance. But the nice peated sherry characters somehow covered the characters of Bowmore itself. It would be even more stunning if more Bowmore flavours can be observed. 90.

Great smell. Dark, sweet fruits dominate at first, then leather, woody notes and a bit of peat, earth and citrus. Dark chocolate, ginger, spices, earth. The spiciness of the ginger diminishes if you give it a little time in the glass. This makes it more pleasant on the palate and opens up security and more. Finish ginger with dark chocolate Bishop to the espresso bean.

1st time tried on 11/2020, scored 89,88, 87 2nd time tried on 3/2022 scored 89.5,90,88 Palate becomes better, after taste comes with some sea water, all better! And, that shows this bottle can perform better afterwards.

Wonderful nutty Bowmore. Sweet walnuts on a lingering base. Still available at distillery shop and Bowmore bar for tasting.

The color is a beautiful bronze color, with a sweet smell of dark fruits, candied fruits, and a hint of sea salt and black chocolate. It tastes rich and thick with preserved chocolate, and has the flavor of old wine. The finish is a hint of tobacco smoke and a hint of acidity. excellent! Compared to my beloved grandona.

simple and delicious sherry bowmore

Although I am not a Bowmore fan, some old bottlings from this distillery have truly impressed me. This too is - especially due to its nose - a truly excellent whisky, but unfortunately it falls somewhat short during consumption, so this bottle would not be worth the current prices on the secondary market to me.

Candy Bowmore. Sweetness like candy. No smoke. The base is packed with non-natural sweetness. Dried fruits (dried apricots and raisins) appear in the background with water. The taste is soft, sweet barberry, a little smoke, a little fruit. Weak. The aftertaste is long-lasting, at first sweet, fruity; in development, the sourness of barberry appears in the smoke.
