Great nose, great taste and pleasant finish!

Tasty but expensive

Extremely horny PC, if the word is allowed. What a nose ever, then stop PC Sherry cask from the very finest!

Well balanced, really beautiful Port Charlotte, but not for friends of light enjoyment, you should already like it harsh. ;-)

The smoke and the fruitiness of the sherry dominate this fine drop. This harmony between smoke, sweetness and malty fruit is impressive and makes this Port Charlotte a special Islay whisky!

Good Islay whisky with a little too much smoke and for me Oak. Fortunately nice and sweet.

The third bottling from Bruichladdich's Cask Exploration series is called 'Bruthaich Dubh', which means 'Black Hill'. Class, now we already have a 'pier', a 'scarecrow in women's clothes' and just the 'black hill'. It all looks like a Jack Vettriano picture. The absolute stringency in the name of Laddie I really like with each bottling better. So a 10-year full-time in a Sherry Hogshead. Oloroso, was confirmed today on request. Interestingly, the label does not contain any alcohol information. But are actually 59.2% ABV, as well as the barrel in the Laddie Shop can be found. Eye / Nose: Strong brownish color, looks similar to the 21er Laddie Oloroso, which me in advance, of course, very positively positive for him. No dark sherry. Could also be a refill sherry. The nose brings first cold smoke, burned open fireplace from the previous evening. Sweetness is little to hear, much less than his wine-stored predecessors. Amazing fresh notes for an Oloroso, but under the cold smoke, the classic Olorosot after old pieces of furniture and a few freshly dried raisins. The latter, however, really very restrained. Palate: Ach the black port leads the strong port Charlotte peat smoke. In the mouth first a very strong start. I think for a moment whether my tongue is the one that smells so overheated. Then spicy notes, rather little sweetness and also rather the dryness of Oloroso. No astringent notes, no sulfur. Again and again this interesting cold smoke. Fits everything very harmoniously together, more comparable to the PC11 as the wild Whiskymania bottlings, where smoke and sherry are not quite tolerate and constantly fighting for the upper hand. And yet it differs significantly from the PC11, already due to the lower sweetness and the very special, fascinating smoky notes. Finish / conclusion: strong, long-lasting finish. Little fruit, much - still cold - smoke and oak. Finally, a (new) OA Port Charlotte from the sherry barrel. Great malt, much easier to access than about the GORAG.

Wow* A really great PC with a great color and wonderful taste ...

Fabulous PC with a lot going on. You have to like the wood influence but if you do it will blow you away. Absolutely love it and glad I have enough of it left :-)

Nose: Hidden smoke, barley, mash, seasoning, meat-soup, mineral notes. Mouth: Licorice (!), salt, more intense smoke. Unbelievable thick, substance and volume. Finish: Medium long, dry mouth and also warming. Conclusion: Really intense malt. Nose and finish stand a bit behind the voluminous palate. Almost as if you ate a seasoned meal. No sulphur. One hell of a great PC! 91/100.
