A hit of sherry, dried fruit, suddenly there is raspberry jam, notes of wild rose, notes of varnish, overripe figs, after a while bitter coffee chocolate and it's all on the nose. The taste is oily, creamy, sweet, followed by dryness, leather, tobacco and light peppercorn. Finish LOOONG, washed sherry wood goes on and on, dried fruit, plums with walnut peel! With water more red fruits, a bit more leather.

Nose: Beautiful sweetness, ripe notes of heavy sherry with the addition of coffee, caramel, roasted almonds Taste: On the first try, aged sherry with a very pleasant sweetness. Extremely creamy taste. Noticeable cinnamon, gingerbread. On subsequent approaches, you will notice raisins with dates. Rating: 94 | 100 Long finish with an oak sherry flavor. Beautiful bouquets, complexity, flavor - everything is beautiful in it. Without a doubt, one of the best whiskys I have ever tried.

Smell: fudge, roasted caramel, then turns into smoky-fruity, forest, blackberries, blueberries, ripe peaches and red oranges Taste: further forest fruits, quite smoky, roasted coffee, tannic, green coffee and tobacco beans, plums, raisins in chocolate Finish: oak, fruit, some smoke, coffee Score: 8.5

With this impressive nose and taste it is hard to believe that it is a refill cask. This is a fantastic whisky

COLOR: dark mahogany NOSE: furniture polish, chestnut lacquer, caramel in the sense of roasted almonds, Sherry paired with ground coffee beans, a perfect nasal flair TASTE: sweet fat sherry, brandy beans, Mon Cheri, gingerbread At the Christmas market, they merge into a very pleasant creaminess in the mouth Departure: the clenched sherry lingers in the mouth for a long time, Christmas spices scream for more ..... CONCLUSION: Very big cinema, a top bottling is not really behind Sherry grenades 20 or 25 years older than old Strathislas or Longmorns has to hide. On the contrary !! 94 points

Sitting here entering notes for whiskies tried back in the early 2000's, I regret not being more careful adding dates and places. Well, I guess we just lived for the moment, enjoying our drams... Looking at the papers and other notes, I'm guessing this one was tasted in 05 or 06 at Whiskymessen, DK.

A very nice dram indeed and a sherry monster ???????? I find the alcohol somewhat sligtly overwhelming ????????

Nose - melon, ketchup, cucumber, nut chocolate, salt hidden in the background. In taste autumn thaws in the Carpathian beech forest. Very balanced, autumnal.

A great whisky of good age. Very well integrated alcohol but with a lot of pepper. Dark fruits, a nice note of sherry and a bit of wood, which is integrated very well into the overall impression. Long finish.

Teaninich 21 yo 1982/2004 (62.3%, The Bottlers, refill sherry butt, cask #7202) Colour: full amber. Nose: wow, extremely sherried for a refill cask! Are they sure it’s a refill? Lots of coffee, rum and cooked fruit with, again, some very bold minty notes – it’s almost overwhelming. Tell me about a sherry monster! Notes of salted liquorice, rubbed orange skin, turpentine, a little camphor, eucalyptus (Vicks)… And maybe faint hints of ammoniac. Something odd here, but again it’s an interesting whisky. Mouth: extremely creamy, starting sort of similarly, on ultra-bold notes of liquorice and mint mixed with dried fruits and caramel. Lots of cough syrup, salmiak again, dried plums, pipe tobacco again… Not lace, that’s for sure. Almost monstrously liquoricy! Goes on on fruitcake, strong herbal tea, mint drops (again!) Now it gets a little hard to enjoy, probably too extreme for my tastes… And the finish gets a little bitter, at that. Well, it’s an interesting one again but I feel it’s got less ‘charms’ than the ‘Exclusive Malt’. 83 points. whiskyfun.com
