Still a great value for money! Less sherried than previous batches in my opinion. Rum soaked raisins, dried fruits (think apricots), burnt sugar, milk chocolate, cocoa, latte, a bag of spices (black pepper, ginger, cinnamon, etc.). I am not getting the nuttiness I love so much when Oloroso is in play. No off-notes. Overall, a nice thing...

Нос 88 It's sherry alright, but it's not a total bomb. The red wine is also very much present. Dry red wine. Cinnamon bun with sugar sprinkles.
Вкус 88 The ABV makes for a potent arrival. But it's very rich in taste so still palatable neat. Abundance of sweet succulent red fruits with a good pinch of wood spice. Dark sticky chocolate.

Great nose. Extremely fruity. Cherry syrup. Mon Cheri. Black Forest cake. It always goes in the same direction. Sweet. Slightly dry. Lots of sweet cherries. Dark chocolate. Tart oak. Hazelnut nougat cream. Pure, it is too sharp on the tongue for me. With a little water and at just over 50%, I find it wonderfully creamy, chocolaty, nutty. Cherry and blackcurrant jam with lots of brown sugar. Very tasty. But the variety of flavors is also kept rather simple. The finish is also rather short. Still, great whisky (if you like that brutal cask influence).

On the nose, a sweet and fruity whisky. On the palate, I'm almost overwhelmed by cherries, plums, dates, and dark grapes. The fruity notes are underscored by an intense honey sweetness. Alongside the sweetness, there's a pronounced spiciness. Baking aromas like cloves and cinnamon, spicy oak, and hints of pepper. There are also light notes of herbs and an undertone of bittersweet dark chocolate. An intense whisky where the alcohol is present but well-integrated. This Batch 10 is, in my opinion, exceptionally sweet and fruity. Unfortunately, this intense sweetness doesn't quite suit my taste; in direct comparison, I prefer both its predecessor (Batch 09) and its successor (Batch 11) with their more bitter, spicier notes. However, those who enjoy fruity and especially sweet flavors will find this one appealing.

0518-GLENALLACHIE 10 yo SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT SCOTCH Whisky CASK STRENGTH BATCH 10 58.6% ... Generally, I prioritize smoky, "true" whiskies. And when it comes to "smokeless" whiskies, GlenAllachie comes out on top. That's my opinion. If you have the opportunity to try it, I encourage you to do so. I drank it plain, soute, but there's nothing stopping you from adding those three drops (not necessarily from the spring near the distillery). This whisky is noteworthy, very fleshy, giving not only the impression of being rich—it is rich. Strong, yes, but that strength highlights its complexity. And most importantly, it's not a "daily dram." I recommend it.

Quite dry, vinous sherry with Oloroso dominance. Excellent taste and aroma, although a bit too pungent with alcohol. But for that price, it's an undeniably wonderful whisky, I'm glad that I can treat myself to it whenever I want, unlike the models from Campbeltown. Well done Glenallachie

Awesome stuff with a great price-performance ratio (sometimes under €60). It's a force to be reckoned with on the palate, very drinkable and nicely oily/thick. Overall, orange notes are very present. What I also really appreciate is that it doesn't go too charged in one direction from the barrel, but rather seems nicely composed overall. The start of the finish with honey and fruit is also great. I always have a bottle of Glenallachie Cask Strength 10 years open.

Comparison tasting between batches 9 and 10. In terms of aroma, batch 10 is more herbal and nutty, while batch 9 seems to have more rum influence with dark red fruits and molasses. The Virgin Oak influence seems less strong to me in the 10 and the alcohol is less well integrated. 88/100 for the 9 and 87/100 for the 10.

I would have guessed this to be a Blair Athol for sure, as nutty on the nose as it is. I enjoy this style of whisky very much, more so than other Glenallachie expressions. Not the most complex there is though.

At first the nose seems to be in abundnace of sour and winy notes. After 10-15 minutes it gets more harmonious with the taste. I cannot name this one among the best batches of Glenallachie 10yo cask strength, nevertheless it can find some fans out there.

Нос 85 a bit alcoholic, sour berries (currant, cranberry), wine sourness. Notes of sour dough and pastry as well. Too many sour notes in general, that become less evident after 10-15 minutes in the glass. Chocolate, syrup and dark honey later on.
Вкус 86 much sweeter, almost syrupy. Cacao, dark chocolate, maple syrup, cola, stewed fruit. Kind of dessert. Wine sourness is almost gone. Balsamic notes, tobacco, dried figs, pepper, ginger.

A notch above batch 6, but still one of the weaker bottlings in the CS series. Noticeably more red-winey than other batches. Still a joy to nose, especially with a generous amount of water. But on the palate, the wine casks are too prominent: a lot of sour red fruits, an idea of grape must – not my favorite of the bunch. Also seems a bit younger in sum than batches 7 and 8, for instance.

It’s quite spicy on the nose, and perhaps due to the use of various casks, it has a unique character. At the beginning of the nosing, the sherry influence is strong, but as it develops, sour berries, toffee, and vanilla emerge, giving it a complex and pleasant feel. Overall, there are a lot of diverse notes across the PF, but they hit briefly like staccato, passing quickly. The spicy ginger note from virgin oak and the chestnut shell-like sherry nuance together create a rather peculiar impression. While it's objectively solid, several notes that I personally don't favor are present, so I don't think I’d buy a bottle of this.

Got this beauty for a long time and came to the discovery that I haven't done a review yet. Glenallachie never disappoints me and I have added some other batches lately. Not opend them yet but that won't take long!

Нос 86 Nice dark colour and body. Red fruits, raisins, sugar cane, oak wood, flowers, strawberries, some caramel and honey. A little marzipan in the background aswell.
